Set in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, Blaenau Ffestiniog is a small but beautiful mountainside town.
Surrounded by stunning scenery, hiking trails, waterfalls and gorges this former slate mining community is steeped in history. So whether you just want to relax by the fire or get out and enjoy the fresh mountain air, there is plenty to do for young and old!
This lovely traditional slate cottage has many traditional features mixed with modern comforts.
There is a large kitchen/diner which is fully equipped with all crockery and utensils. Cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine.
There are two reception rooms. The reading room has a traditional inglenook fireplace for cosy nights by the fire with your favourite book.
The lounge is kitted out with all the mod cons - TV, DVD, Sky TV with Sky Sports, Setanta Sports.
The cottage sleeps up to 5 with 3 bedrooms (1 twin, 1 single & 1 double). All beds are made up freshly before your arrival.
The large bathroom has both bath and separate shower enclosure and towels are provided for your convenience.
To the outside of the cottage there is a decked patio with views to the slate mountains.
The cottage also benefits from parking for one vehicle and gas central heating. All gas and electric is included in the price.
It's a short 2 minutes walk to the famous Steam Trains, and 15 minutes to the slate mines.

Things to do in Blaenau Ffestiniog
Being situated right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, Blaenau Ffestiniog has lots to offer for the outdoor enthusiast. From gentle strolls around glacial lakes to mountain hikes and outdoor sports such as mountain biking and kayaking.

Blaenau Ffestiniog is home to the famous Ffestiniog Railway which at over 175 years old is the oldest surviving railway company in the world. Take a step back in time and travel in an original steam train through the beautiful mountain scenery to Portmadog.
They also run special events at Halloween (30/31st Oct) with lots of spooky fun and prizes for the best costumes.

Blaenau Ffestiniog is also home to the Llechwedd Slate Caverns which is regularly listed as one of the top ten places to visit in Wales. You can take an underground tour of the caverns on the Miners Tramway.
The Caverns run a calendar of events throughout the year and have special events on for Halloween (25-31st Oct), Fireworks Friday (7th Nov) and a visit from Santa at Christmas.
